Needlepoint and Video Games Infused Together
It all started with a fascination of video games and sprites. I saw these items and found them beautiful, but I had no knowledge of what is referred to as "bead spriting" so I took an old hobby of Needlepoint and applied the same theory as bead spriting.
I was creating items for a while as a hobby, but once I started graduate school, I found that my nerves were shot at the end of the day. The only thing that could allow me to focus was Needlepoint. It became a very zen like experience, and it became my favorite thing to do in the evening.
Slowly, I started getting small requests to make certain items, and so I did. Since then I've created nearly a 1000 different sprites.
Whether I'm watching a movie or television - you'll see me on my couch working on another new creation.
I have the largest collection of Needlepoint video game characters in the world. Everyday I create a new item and I'm still learning new tricks and techniques with each passing moment.
